LOCAL UMPIRES SUPPORTED

An umpire support day was held recently, organised by Pauline Kinder from the Umpiring Group. Margaret Deighan, ex International umpire and IFNA Tester, was invited along with Karen Jones, A award umpire.

During the first part of the day they delivered an ' Introduction to Mentoring’ workshop. The attendees will now mentor trainees at the Junior League and any club umpires who request support.

The afternoon was spent helping mentors and mentoring a number of umpires at the County U14 SW qualifying tournament .

In the early evening, all qualified umpires were invited to an Umpires Forum which provided an opportunity to ask Margaret questions and gain further advice on umpiring.

This event was based at Penryn College and was funded by a successful Awards for All grant applied for by Cornwall Netball.
