About Us
The Management Board is run by a group of volunteers whose aim is to support and develop netball provision in Cornwall at all levels. They ensure netball across the county is played according to England Netball rules and governance.
At present there is one subcommittee that feeds into the Board:
Development Group - Responsible for all junior netball provision. They support and develop the satellite and county academies and the junior league. They are also linked with schools network.
The Board is responsible for overseeing the safeguarding and protection of young people involved in netball clubs across the county. This is done by promoting at club level, the adoption of welfare officers, ensuring adequate relevant training is available to clubs and ensuring clubs are aware of safeguarding procedures should an incident occur.
The Board works on obtaining funding and sponsorship to support netball players, coaches, umpires and clubs. Examples of this include an Award for All grants which enabled attendees on an England Netball Level 2 coaching course to receive a subsidy of half the course cost. This same grant has been used to pay for young people to attend various umpiring courses.
The Board established a county website in 2007 www.cornwallnetball.co.uk to easily communicate with the netball community and promote netball to any new members.
The website is maintained by the Development Officer and Publicity Officer.
