Netball MarathonAs some of you may already know Carrie (Short) has recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Carrie has been instrumental in developing Bude Netball Club and has played in the North Devon Netball League for approximately 15 years initially for Bude and in recent years for Venners. She won the South West Goalden Globe for Grassroots Coach this year showing her commitment and dedication to our sport. Carrie has a young family and her netball club are fundraising to help her create precious memories with them and her friends.

One of their fundraising events is a NETBALL MARATHON and all players, coaches, juniors (clubs and schools), brothers, boyfriends, husbands from across the region are invited to join in with some fun in half term. Teams can come together for extra practice, individuals are very welcome and parents can get rid of their children for a day in half term. Our aim is to raise money, play netball and have fun!
The Netball Marathon will take place at West Buckland School 10am-Midnight on Friday 30th October. It is open to all age groups and abilities. £10 per person to enter and bring a plate of food (and sleeping bag if you fancy a nap in the gym!). There will be separate sections for the various age groups including a mixed senior section. It is during half term so juniors can join us (parents can get rid of them) for the day, and adults are welcome whenever, after work for those non-teachers! Please find the flyer / entry form is attached - there are tick boxes to indicate availability times.
If you are unable to join the marathon but still wish to support the club to raise as much money as possible to say 'thank you' for everything Carrie has done for our sport over the years, you can donate at: crowdfunding.justgiving.com/carrieschristmas
